You Need to Develop the Spirit of Entrepreneurship to Succeed in Business

Many of us are interested in starting home-based businesses or quitting our full-time jobs. There is a marked difference between the psychology of the worker and that of the entrepreneur but the great flicker of hope is that the entrepreneurial consciousness could be developed. If you are exhausted of your day-time job and have been thinking of leaving your job and striking out on your own, you need to think about this properly. It is necessary to analyze yourself and ask whether you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur; and if you don’t to go ahead and begin the process of developing that consciousness. This article itemises some of the characteristics of an entrepreneur as well as the method by which those characteristics could be developed.

First, be clear about why you are starting business. Why become an entrepreneur? There are various reasons that one might think about in striking to become an entrepreneur and starting one’s own business. Some strike out because they hate their bosses, some because they hate their jobs, some because they hate poverty and some because they hate commuting. Becoming an entrepreneur because you hate something might not be the right attitude. It is superior to strive to begin your own business because you love something. When the chips are down, you will need the energy of love to sustain you in the days of adversity. It is your love of business or entrepreneurship which will keep you going when partners desert you, or a project fails, or the tax-man comes with harassment, or you grappling other negative circumstances. So the first thing to do is to first settle all the hatreds and rather replace them with the love of something this is done at the level of attitude. Your attitude to business will determine your altitude in success.

Second, don’t go into business tabular rasa like a clean slate. You need to develop yourself along the business line. You need to learn some bookkeeping skills, some law, some technology and some philosophy to be a good business-person. A good way to begin is to join a network marketing system. When you join, don’t join because of the money even though you can make a whole lot of money from this business but don’t make that your focus. Go with the intention of learning, especially learning to sell. To succeed in business, you need to know how to sell. You will need to sell your business ideas to partners, to sponsors, to customers, and even to members of your work-force. And one good way to learn to sell is by joining a network marketing system and taking advantage of the great training facilities provided there.

Third, comprehend the difference between assets and liability. Many go out into business without understanding the difference between assets and liabilities. Your knowledge in this area is very vital to your success. So get some good training before you jump in.

Forth, comprehend the power of systems. A business is essentially a system. Not understanding the power of systems will convert a business-man into a self-employed, and there is a difference between a business-man and a self-employed. A good business-man puts in place a system, which works irrespective of whether he is sleeping or working. The capability to do this is the difference between a business-man and a self-employed.

One needs to take a closer look at him or herself before going into business, but each attitude and characteristics required for entrepreneurial success could be developed by paying attention to critical factors, most of which are essentially psychological.

Do You Finally Want to Succeed in Business?

3 February 2012 by
Categories: Business Success

Below you will find a secret that will be quite unbelievable for some. This secret is critical to the success of any small business and is so profound that without it, your business will fail.

Let’s begin by asking a easy question…Do you enjoy sales?

The truth of the matter is that when many small business owners are asked this question, they respond with answers like, “No way” or “I can’t stand sales, let someone else do it.”

Why is your answer to the above question so important? No doubt you have seen headlines like the following, which glorify how easy and easy it is to succeed in business:

“The Ultimate Lazy Way To Begin Your Own Business”

“Cash In On A Multi-Billion Dollar Industry In Your Underwear”

“Easily Generate A Lucrative Income While Sleeping”

We are constantly being bombarded with these “easy ways” to make a million bucks. Does success in business actually work this way? Not in reality! Is it realistic? Not even close!

Overall it is how well you can sell and market your product that will determine the success of your long-term business…period. It doesn’t get any simpler than that. You can either sell your own product or resell somebody else’s product. Either way, your success or unfortunate will finally depend on your capability to market it. If you hate sales, you have a trim chance of succeeding in business for yourself.

The most common misjudgment by many new entrepreneurs is that their product will magically sell and market itself once launched. After all, the product is awesome and everybody will absolutely, positively want one. People should be lining up to purchase it, right?

Here is another truth about sales. It will take 5-7 income attempts to close 80% of your sales. Yes, you read that correctly. That’s 5-7 attempts before people will state “Yes, I want to purchase your product.” Running an advertisement one-time or making a income pitch to a potential customer once in a while does not remember as effort. Hearing that first “no” and subsequently giving up means the demise of your business and gives someone else an opportunity to turn that NO into a YES.

What most people don’t realize or change to accept is that it might take weeks or even months to get a product to sell according to your expectations. You might have to be constantly adjusting your web site, income letter, marketing strategy, advertisements and maybe even your product until you get it right. This dedication and determination is what separates the very few successful business owners from the many “wannabes” and fly-by-night hopefuls.

The bottom line is that to be successful in ANY business you will need the capability to market and sell, sell, sell.

Top 10 Ways Your Family Can Help Your Home Business Succeed

2 February 2012 by
Categories: Business Success

While some home business owners hire family to help their business succeed, some do it for tax benefits. No matter the reason, employing family to help your business has many advantages. If you do hire your family, there are some aspects to consider. Your family can also help the future of your business without hiring them. Either way, some home-based business owners need a tiny extra support from family.

1. Spread the Word

One of the most obvious ways to help your business grow is to get the word out about your products or ideas. In order to do this effectively, the word of mouth is the ideal way. Your family can help you by telling other people about your business. They can also hang fliers up for you at their local grocery stores, the gym, or shopping centers.

2. Avoid Disturbances

If you are working at home instead of an in office setting, it is very important that your other family members know that you need space. While you do not want to seclude yourself entirely, any distractions or disturbances could injured your work responsibilities. This is also true if you have to make phone calls with customers in order to help your business grow.

If you have young kids at home, make sure that the other adult in the home helps you watch them. Set certain times that you will need quiet time. Your other family might be healthy to watch your kids as well, so do not be afraid to ask for help.

3. Job Description

If you decide to hire a family member do any number of tasks, be sure that they know the clear description of their job. This will prevent them from interfering in areas where they should not be, and it will help them comprehend exactly what they are supposed to be doing.

4. Establish Hours

While having family work for you probably seems like a very lenient and easy going aspect, you should still treat them as employees to make it feel professional. Establish specific hours for apiece family member. More than likely, they will all want to help at the same time, but this could injured your finances in the long run. By establishing certain times for apiece mortal to work, you can manage it into your budget correctly.

5. Keep a Professional Atmosphere

Employing family members can be very beneficial to your business, but it can injured your overall family relationship. Make sure that you do not get too comfortable with the fact that they are family. Treat them as a respected employee so that they will feel like they are appreciated and not being used. Do not reward them more than your employees who are not family either. Keeping a good management position with apiece employee will help your business and your individualized relationships as well.

6. Make Professional Standards

It is easy to slack off with family members and try to make their work region very simple, but you should treat them as any employee. Set standards for what you anticipate their work ethic and job performance to be like. This will prevent any harsh feelings and any ungrateful attitudes to occur.

7. Separate Home from Work

If your spouse is your business partner or even you’re Mom, you need to keep all conversations relating to individualized lives out of the business area. If your husband or wife is working for you, bringing an argument to work that was never resolved the night before could end in disaster and will not profit your business.

8. Phone Duties

Running a successful business includes all things, such as phone calls and receiving phone calls. If your family does not want to work for you, they can still do easy tasks that will help you. This includes phone duties. They can take incoming phone calls during the busiest hours of the day and make phone calls for you.

9. Newsletters and Duplicates

The same with phone duties applies to other easy tasks. Having a family member create newsletters for you if they have time or making duplicates of paperwork can still help your business in small ways. It will cut down work time for you.

10. Recruitment

If you have a network marketing business where you can profit from recruiting members, then your family can help your business grow by signing up underneath you. Not only will they be helping your recruiting statistics, but they can also benefit by getting involved in the network business.

Why Home Based Businesses Succeed

31 January 2012 by
Categories: Business Success

Hopefully, you’ve read my other article “Why Home Based Businesses Fail?” before you read this one. If not, that’s ok. As you know a lot of people are looking for that top online business opportunity. They are looking for that home based business that they can run from home and have more time do the things they want to do. A lot of these businesses change and you know why if you read my other article. I am going to share with you why some home based businesses succeed. Here we go:

The marketing system. The people that comprehend this are very successful because they know how to get their product or service to those that are looking for it. They comprehend the intent of putting themselves right in front of the those people. How good does it feel to go to the mall and find what you are looking for at the very first store! These people comprehend how to market.

Their passion. Have you ever heard of the expression: “Chase your passion, not your pension”? I’m sure you know someone that is very passionate about something. Look at how they carry themselves. They’re always happy and positive. Look at the “mom and pop” restaurants. These people have the passion for their food and the patrons see that. I always believe that if you are passionate about what you do, the money comes chasing you down.

Education. I believe that you also have to be educated about the product or service you are providing. Many get into a home based business and instantly see dollar signs without knowing about the product or service they are about to sell. You have to educate yourself and decide if people will even want your product or service. A lot of work from home businesses are trying to sell the next ideal pill or juice. There’s too much competition and no ones really interested in that anymore.

Personal development.  This means that you acquire the skills to become a superior mortal and that leader that others are looking for.

My ideal advice is to do some research where the competition is less than the potential. Once you find that you nearly certain to have success!

Then research the marketing system.  This will tell you “how” your products or services will be seen by potential customers.

Find out how much help you will have.  Make sure you will have the support you need to be successful.

Until next time,

Greg Schmidt

How to Succeed in Business, Any Business

28 January 2012 by
Categories: Business Success

While there are some very business specific things which apiece of us must learn in order to work effectively within our chosen enterprise, the truth is that being really successful has very tiny to do with gaining business specific skills. If this were not the case, the number of people who are finally seen as successful would not be so limited. So, what is it that sets the winners apart? Here are the five keys of how to be successful in business, ANY business.

SEE Your Goal
Visualize and meditate on your goal each day. Your goal will not become a reality unless you see it so clearly that it feels real.

DO Something Productive
It might sound obvious, but people have a tendency to “lean on a shovel and pray for a whole.” Make sure you complete at least one income producing activity each day.

GROW Yourself
Jim Rohn said; “We can have more than we’ve got because we can become more than we are.” It is imperative that you do some sort of individualized development on a regular basis. Read, study, GROW.

SEEK Counsel
Find people who have reached what you want to achieve. Develop a relationship with these people. Mastermind with them and with others who are on the same journey as you. It will work wonders!

EXPECT Leadership
Demand it of yourself and those around you. You have to first BE the mortal you want to be, the rest will follow. If you move to have certain things before you can act a certain way or be a certain type of person, then it will never happen. To quote saint Allen, “Think, talk and act just as you wish to be, and you will be that which you wish to be.”

Do you want to know how to succeed in business? Any business? All you are required to do is turn these five actions into regular habits. Once they are so ingrained in you that you no longer need to think of them and they just happen as naturally as breathing, then you are guaranteed success in anything you undertake!

How not to Succeed in Business

24 January 2012 by
Categories: Business Success

Here it is: the totally guaranteed secret of success in business…

Identify what people want and wage it to them efficiently.

Honestly. It really is that simple.

This, of course, begs the question, “If it really is that simple, why it is that there are so few successful people?”

So the real issue is not so much how to succeed in business as how not to succeed. There are three basic methods of imperfectness to succeed in business.

Method One is to change to refer accurately what people want. Most unsuccessful businesses make the mistake of trying to sell what the entrepreneur thinks the customer wants rather than what the customer actually wants. This is an simple mistake to make, given that customers are often unclear, not least in their own minds, what they really want. The demand of clarity might deceive the entrepreneur into thinking that he can exploit the uncertainty by clever marketing. This is a classic error because, even though clever selling might be deceptively successful in the short term, it can't build a viable business if what is being sold is essentially unwanted.

Method Two is to change to deliver what it wanted in an efficient way. This covers both relative inefficiency – where one is simply not as efficient as one’s competitors – and absolute inefficiency – where one is so inefficient that one can't even turn a profit even if one has no competitors! Inefficiency can take many forms – inefficient marketing, inefficient financing, inefficient strategy, inefficient cost control, inefficient management, inefficient operations, inefficient pricing, inefficient administration, etc – any one of which can destroy a company with a sound business intent to serve an accurately identified customer want.

Method Three, however, is by far the most common.

It is, quite simply, not to try – or, at least, not to try properly.

The vast majority of people do not try at all. This is not necessarily to their discredit. They define success by standards other than financial. They have other priorities – perhaps their families, or a hobby, or a political or a charitable cause – and money is only a means to an end to them. They might well be right.

Yet there are others who do try, but try so half-heartedly that they would have been superior off not trying at all.

Although commitment does not guarantee success, it is a necessary precondition. Anyone setting out to succeed in business must comprehend that it demands focus – at least in the key phases. It demands that one works when others are idle, and that one invests when others are spending. One must accept that enterprise is risk – and risk means being prepared to sacrifice.

All sorts of people have found success in business. Private enterprise is the only true meritocracy. Yes, it helps to be intelligent or good-looking or socially skilled or born into money or well-connected, but there are people who have succeeded without any of those advantages – and people who unsuccessful despite having them all.

Many multi-millionaires are people from a poor background with tiny education and tiny in the way of social sparkle. Some are plodders. What they had was a commitment to their businesses, based on a commitment to succeed.

While it is true that many with a similar commitment still change – either because they make mistakes or because the ball bounces the wrong way or, most commonly, through a combination of both – it is unlikely that one will ever succeed without it.
